Syracuse, N.Y. -- Yet another lake effect snowstorm is pounding parts of Upstate New York this week, with more than 2 feet falling since the storm started Wednesday morning.

The top spot is the Buffalo suburb of Orchard Park, with 30 inches of snow as of this morning, according to the National Weather Service. That’s where the Buffalo Bills stadium is, but the Bills play in Detroit this weekend.

At least five spots in Western New York have already seen 2 feet of snow. The Tug Hill Plateau is also getting pounded, but the weather service hasn’t posted totals yet for that area. (See complete chart below.)

A state of emergency has been declared for counties in Western New York and the Tug Hill plateau.

In the North Country, Jefferson County early this afternoon issued an order for no unnecessary travel due to the snow and wind.

This week’s snow is on top of the 4 feet or more that fell in a storm last week.

More snow is on the way: Two more feet could fall on Tug Hill and another foot or so in the Buffalo area, the weather service predicts.

The chart below the snow map shows snowfall totals compiled this morning by the Buffalo weather service office, which forecasts for areas along lakes Erie and Ontario. This list is not final or official.
