Nearly two dozen Morris County mayors are asking for more answers about the mysterious drone sightings in the nighttime sky.

They say they are not satisfied with the information they've been given and want more information right now. Asking why are they flying, who's doing it and what safety protocols are taking place.

Twenty-one Morris County mayors say more than 500,000 residents have raised significant alarm from these nighttime reported drone flights. The mayors sent one letter with their concerns and requests to Gov. Phil Murphy over the weekend.

MORE:

Their concerns are public safety, privacy and security, community well-being and air space restrictions.

The mayors demanding more urgency from Gov. Murphy are from Pequannock, Washington Twp, Hanover, Rockaway Borough and Twp, Mendham Borough and Twp, Long Hill, Montville, Mount Olive, Parsippany- Troy Hills, Wharton, Mount Arlington, Riverdale, Chester Borough and Twp, Roxbury, Mine Hill, East Hanover, Florham Park and Jefferson.

Gov. Murphy has not sent back a statement to their letter. Last week, Murphy said he's working with top security officials and there is no known threat to the public.
