(WJET/WFXP)– City of Erie Mayor Joe Schember has declared a Snow Emergency for the remainder of the weekend.
The Snow Emergency will be in effect for the City of Erie from Friday to Sunday citing large amounts of snow and inclement weather with Odd-Even parking being extended through the weekend.
Residents are asked to comply with the regulations so plows can safely clear the streets as quickly as possible and so emergency vehicles can move through. The city said Erie police will also be out ticketing.
If it is an odd calendar day (Ex: Nov. 29) you would park on the north or west side of your street, if it is an even calendar day (Ex: Nov. 30) you would park on the south or east side of the street.
Residents who live in a cul-de-sac are asked to try to park in their driveway and residents who live where there is no Odd-Even parking are being asked to try to park all on the same side of the street to allow enough room for the plow to make it down the middle of the street.
Additionally, residents are asked to remain off city streets as much as possible to allow crews to efficiently plow snow and make our streets safe.
