5 injured in 'pattern' of stabbings in Seattle's CID over 24 hours

UPDATE - . Seattle Police Department near the scene and taken into custody without incident. After the Friday afternoon incident, a total of 10 people were stabbed in the CID neighborhood in 38 hours.

SEATTLE - Five people were stabbed in a close radius in Seattle's Chinatown-International District over the course of about 24 hours.

While the Seattle Police Department haven't said if all the cases are connected, investigators indicated the stabbings followed a "pattern."

Below is a list of each stabbing incident that happened between early Thursday and early Friday mornings, according to the SPD:

Stabbing 1: 12th Avenue South and South King Street

Around 1:30 a.m. Thursday, a 52-year-old woman after she was stabbed eight times.

The department said responding officers found a blood trail and a possible crime scene east of 8th Avenue South and South King Street.

Police said the circumstances leading up to the stabbing are under investigation.

Stabbing 2: Eighth Avenue South and South Jackson Street

At 12:19 p.m. Thursday, police said a man about 40 years old

According to the SPD, the victim was stabbed seven times, including three injuries to his chest and four to his back.

Stabbing 3:Eighth Avenue South and South Jackson Street

At 8:09 p.m. Thursday, a male victim was stabbed multiple times in the chest, back, and hands. He was taken to Harborview Medical Center in serious condition.

Officers began to look for a suspect in connection to the third stabbing. The suspect was described as a Black 40-year-old man about six feet tall, 200 pounds, and wearing a puffy jacket with green pants.

Police found and detained a suspect, but witnesses told officers they were not sure if it was the correct suspect. The man detained, however, had a felony warrant and the SPD said he was booked into King County Jail for that warrant.

Stabbing 4:Eighth Avenue South and South King Street

At 10:39 p.m. Thursday, police responded to another stabbing on King Street under the I-5 overpass. The victim told police a man had approached his car, forced open the door, and tried to stab him in the chest.

The SPD said the victim was able to block the knife and fight off the suspect, but was cut on his hand. Police responded with a helicopter and K9 units, but were unable to find the suspect.

The victim was transported to Harborview Medical Center for treatment.

Stabbing 5: 12th Ave South and South Jackson Street

At 1 a.m. Friday, police responded to an assault call and found a victim bleeding from the neck.

Police said the victim was so seriously injured, they could not speak to an officer. Police found a blood trail to a doorway and again tried to use a police dog to track the suspect, but nobody was arrested.

Police said detectives are working to learn if the stabbings are related.
