BEDFORD, Pa. — A Puerto Rican woman trashed President Biden for calling Donald Trump’s supporters “garbage” after a J.D. Vance rally Wednesday at a rural airport in southwestern Pennsylvania.
“Biden is a bumbling idiot — point blank. He starts talking, and then garbage literally flies out of his mouth,” Jessie Anderson, a decade-long Army veteran from nearby Johnstown, told The Post.
Biden said Trump supporters are “the only garbage I see floating out there” Tuesday in response to a comedian calling Puerto Rico a “floating island of garbage” on stage at Trump’s Sunday Madison Square Garden rally.
Though Anderson, whose mom was born in Puerto Rico, believes podcast host Tony Hinchcliffe is “insulting,” she doesn’t blame the former president for his joke.
Wearing a red Latina Veteran for Trump T-shirt, the former combat medic even urged her fellow Puerto Ricans to vote for him as well.
“Look at your pockets. Look at the price of food. You go to las compras. How much are you spending?” she asked, using the Spanish word for “stores.”
Trump “is an absolute force of peace, power and success. Get out and vote for him. Our nation needs him. Our pockets need him.”
Anderson, 43, blasted Biden for slandering Trump supporters, whom Hillary Clinton famously called a “basket of deplorables” during the 2016 presidential election.
“We live in a democratic nation, one where there are multiple parties. Why are you going to resort to name-calling and isolating another party?” Anderson asked.
“The Democratic Party is now a party of division. They’re dividing the United States. They’re inciting violence. They’re inciting hate. We cannot have that in our nation. We are one nation under God.”
The latest polls show Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris neck and neck in the race for president.
Trump has faced backlash for Hinchcliffe’s set, though he immediately distanced himself from the comedian, whom Trump denies knowing. Nearly half a million people of Puerto Rican descent live in Pennsylvania, a key swing state.
“If you want to go ahead and say ‘Puerto Rico is a floating pile of trash,’ maybe it’s because Biden has done nothing to clean it up. Bam,” she added, referring to the aftermath of Hurricane Ernesto.
“I have a temper. I’m a spicy Puerto Rican. God bless everyone’s souls,” the former Army drill sergeant added with a smile.
