Tens of thousands of supporters gathered near the White House and overflowed onto the National Mall on Tuesday evening to listen to Vice President Kamala Harris deliver her campaign’s “closing argument.” Standing where former President Donald Trump spoke on January 6, 2020, when he urged his crowd to “fight like hell” and sparked the insurrection at the U.S. Capitol building, Harris promised to represent all Americans if she is elected.
PBS News spoke with a few of the attendees about their thoughts ahead of the election, key issues that are driving their votes and whether they were hopeful for a peaceful transfer of power after the election.
