Big Number
$108.2 million. That is the total amount raised by the Harris Victory Fund—the Harris campaign’s primary high-dollar fundraising vehicle—in the first 16 days of October. In comparison, the Trump 47 Committee—the GOP candidate’s rival to the victory fund—raised $40.1 million during the same period.
Key Background
The Harris campaign outraised Trump’s operations by a 3-to-1 margin last month. In September, the vice president's principal campaign committee raised $221.8 million, compared to $62.7 million raised by Trump. The difference in expenditure was even starker, with the Harris campaign spending $270 million last month, compared to Trump’s $78 million. Quarterly numbers disclosed by the Harris Victory Fund earlier this month also outlined her massive cash edge, with the high-dollar fundraising arm raising $633 million in the third quarter of the year. In contrast, the Trump 47 committee raked in only $145.2 million during the same three-month period.
