Vice President Kamala Harris will travel through several suburban battlegrounds on Monday with Liz Cheney, the former Republican congresswoman who has become her most prominent conservative surrogate.
Ms. Cheney, who represented Wyoming for three terms in Congress, was a supporter of former President Donald J. Trump until he sought to overturn the 2020 election. After the Capitol riot on Jan. 6, 2021, she turned against him and joined the House panel investigating the attack, prompting Republicans to drive her from her leadership role and then from Congress.
She will now participate in what the Harris campaign is calling “moderated conversations” with the vice president in the suburbs of Philadelphia, Detroit and Milwaukee.
