Elon Musk donated nearly $75 million to a super PAC backing Donald Trump from July to September, according to a new filing out Tuesday.
The world's richest person, Musk helped create the pro-Trump America PAC "to support candidates who believe in the core values of America," he said in a post on X. The PAC is also offering $47 to registered voters in swing states who sign a petition in support of the Constitution.
Musk has become a growing ally to Trump, amplifying his messages on X, appearing at a rally and trying to mobilize the base with cash payments. Trump has promised Musk a leadership role in his administration if he wins the election.
Musk was outpaced in donations by casino fortune heir Miriam Adelson, who donated $95 million via the Preserve America PAC, an FEC filing for the same time frame ending Sept. 30 shows.

The new filing comes as Vice President Kamala Harris has raised $1 billion at record pace, according to the New York Times. In September, CBS reported that more than 90 business leaders, including billionaire Mark Cuban endorsed Harris, but Cuban has denied donating to her campaign.
A few billionaire donors have given to the Harris-backing Future Forward PAC after Harris entered the race, data compiled by Bloomberg shows. The following totals are shown in the most recently available FEC data, but do not constitute their total donations to Democratic causes in the 2024 election:
Former Google CEO Eric Schmidt gave $1.6 million
