SIESTA KEY, Fla. (WWSB) - Two hurricanes in one week. The scary and sad reality for Suncoast residents after Milton made landfall near Siesta Key as a Category 3 storm.

Following Helene, officials worked hard to clean up as much debris as they could before Milton’s arrival. But unfortunately, it was impossible to clear everything.

That’s why remnants like furniture and appliances could be seen taking over Midnight Pass Road on Siesta Key.

Raja De has been a Siesta Key resident for 5 years. He says Helene flooded his house with three feet of water, ruining everything on the first floor including all of his cars.

And now after Milton, he has virtually nothing left.

Residents impacted by Hurricane Milton can apply for FEMA assistance by December 11. If you were impacted by both Helene and Milton, you must fill out a separate application for both storms. You can do so by going to disasterassistance.gov, using the FEMA app or by calling 800-621-3362.
