The formation chance for a large area of disorganized low pressure has been lowered. The area of low pressure is over the western Caribbean Sea and is forecast to shift into the southern Gulf of Mexico. The formation chance is now down from 50% to 40% through seven days and 10% through the next two days. If anything does further develop, it would likely be late this week or over the weekend.
The National Hurricane Center said Monday in its 7 day tropical weather outlook, "Environmental conditions could become conducive for gradual development, and a tropical depression could form in a few days while the system is over the southern Gulf of Mexico or northwestern Caribbean Sea. While interests in the northwestern Caribbean Sea and along the U.S. Gulf Coast should continue to monitor the progress of this system, the timetable for potential development has shifted later toward late week or this weekend."
