We are watching three areas of development that could form in the tropics this week

It will move west to northwest over the next several days. Models are turning it north by the end of the week over the open Atlantic. It will have not impact on land, but should strengthen to a major hurricane by Friday. Isaac and Joyce will weaken today and become nontropical systems. There is also another area just off the coast of Africa that has a 60% chance for tropical development by the end of the week.There is also an area in the Western Caribbean Sea that has a good chance for development by the middle of the week. It will track north to northwest into the Gulf of Mexico. Models are showing a tropical system developing in the Gulf by the middle to end of the week. This area has a 40% chance for tropical development.
