Big Number
147. That’s how many Tourbillon watches are available, allowing them to be marketed as “a true collector’s item.” The watch website says they will not make more once they are sold out.
Key Background
Trump has been releasing merchandise throughout the campaign season, most recently debuting $100 silver coins that were described as “99.9% fine silver.” He has also released Trump sneakers—which retailed for as high as $499—Trump cologne and perfume, as well as $60 Trump-branded Bibles and NFT cards. The sales have come as Trump’s ongoing legal cases have resulted in hundreds of millions of dollars of unpaid legal fees. The Los Angeles Times estimated the Bible sales generated about $300,000, and CBS News estimated Trump netted about $7.2 million from NFT licensing fees. The sale of watches has also come as Trump’s presidential campaign is being outspent by Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign. Politico reported that the Trump campaign raised about $45 million in fundraising last month, compared to $190 million raised by Harris.
Forbes Valuation
We estimate Trump to have a net worth of about $3.7 billion, making him the 936th wealthiest person in the world as of Thursday.
