For the 14th straight year, Princeton University topped the nation in college rankings released Tuesday by U.S. News & World Report.
Six New Jersey universities ranked in the top 100 on the 2025 National Universities list, the same number as last year, and 11 reached the top 325, according to the news site. (See the full list of New Jersey universities and their rankings below.)
For the second year in a row, all three state university campuses — Rutgers-New Brunswick, Rutgers-Newark and Rutgers-Camden — made the top 100 list. Rutgers-Newark also tied for the fifth best school in the nation for social mobility, which refers to graduates improving their socio-economic class through education.
