Election 2024 latest news Harris to focus on reproductive rights at Georgia event
    Posted on 09/20/2024
Vice President Kamala Harris plans to keep the focus on reproductive health care on Friday with a campaign event in Atlanta centered on abortion. It’s an issue that Democrats — including Harris — see as a winning one for their party: Since the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade in June 2022, every ballot measure that has sought to preserve or expand abortion access has been successful, while those that have sought to restrict abortion access have failed — even in states that skew conservative. Harris also will campaign later Friday in Madison, Wis., her fourth visit to that battleground state since launching her campaign in July. Donald Trump has no public events scheduled Friday but is expected to return to the trail Saturday with a rally in North Carolina.
